Have you unboxed the extender?
“Yes, I did”.
The second thing that you have to do is to plug in the extender.
“Ok, wait! Let me plug the extender in”.
“Done? Thank you, what would be the next step”?
The next step is to wait for some time because the LEDs on your device will start blinking upon plugging it in.
Now, are they stable?
“Yes, they are”!
Now, proceed by turning on a desktop or laptop.
“I have a wireless computer! Will it work”?
Yes, of course you can use it.
Have you turned it on?
“Yes”!
Now, go to the device WiFi settings. Locate and search for Netgear_Ext (extender’s default SSID).
“Oh, wait! I can’t found the default SSID of my WiFi range extender”.
Why worry? We are here!
- First of all, disconnect/ forget all the SSID displayed on the list of WiFi networks, even known.
- Then, update the software of your wireless computer (if needed) and restart it.
- Now, can you see Netgear_ext on the list of SSID?
“Thank you! Yes, I can! What’s next?”
Open a web browser.
“Which”?
Any of your choice, but updated! Also, you have to clear the browsing history and close all the tabs on your browser that are opened and pinned.
“I have already done that”. But, I still can’t access mywifiext.local”.
Wait! Are you using Apple PC or MacBook?
“No, Windows wireless PC”.
Then, mywifiext.local will not work because it is the web address that is used on MacBook, iPhone, iPad, or Apple devices for extender configuration.
“What to do now”?
Why worry? Just use mywifiext.net instead.
Note: No matter whether you are using mywifiext.net or mywifiext.local, if it is entered with typos (in the URL bar) or in the browser’s search bar field, then it will surely not work for you (if you are even using the correct device).
“Ok, thank you for the information! What to do now?”
Press the Enter key to get redirected to the new extender setup window. Once you are into the Netgear EX3700 extender’s login window, please enter the default login details of our device carefully into the required fields and click on Done, OK, or Log In.
And there you are! Fab! You are all done! You have reached the Netgear Genie setup page successfully.
